Discover the Patagonian steppe from the majestic Santa Cruz River.
Kayak on the Santa Cruz River
Departure from El Calafate at 7.30 am. Once we arrive at the starting point, a talk is given regarding the equipment and safety measures, after that, paddling begins. The first part of the route takes 1 hour. In the zone of Los Hornos Hill, we stop for lunch and go for a short walk by the river bank where petrified bones and trunks are observed. After some rest, the second part of the kayak route follows, until arriving at the zone of El Turbio stream. The second stage of the trip takes 1.20 hs.
This activity cannot be done by children under 12 years, pregnant women and people, who depending on their medical record are not fit for taking this excursion. Minors under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
What to bring?
Sunglasses, sunscreen, trekking shoes, comfortable clothes for kayaking, thermal t-shirt, Polar fleece jacket, Lycra leggings and spare underwear.
Backpack or bag to keep the clothes that are left in the vehicle.
Included:
Transfer, kayak gear and equipment (double Kayak, paddle, wetsuit, semidry jacket, cockpit cover, helmet, mittens, life jacket, dry bag.)

Duration:
7.30 am to 5pm.
The kayak route takes place in Argentino Lake, along the Redonda Bay, coast guard and Solitaria Island. It is a paddling of an hour and a quarter, where we will see El Calafate from the lake, as well as the mountains, and birds such as flamingos, black-necked swans, coots, among others. Kayaking tour of approximately 5 km.
What to bring?
Sunglasses, sunscreen, trekking shoes, comfortable warm clothes.
Included:
Transfer, double kayak for passengers, wetsuit, life jacket, kayak guides. Passengers have to bring long sleeve t-shirt.
