HORSEBACK RIDING IN RÍO MITRE

We leave El Calafate along the edge of Argetino Lake until we reach Estancia Río Mitre, which faces the Andes and the Magallanes peninsula.

Once there, we will be greeted with hot tea, mate or coffee while we have a welcome talk. Then we will set off for the stables to begin the ride towards the shore of Rico Lake (an arm of the immense Argentino Lake).

We will ride around the lake and contemplate the beautiful landscape of snow-capped mountains, while the guide gives an explanation about the geography and history of the place. There are those who just want to ride and there are those who prefer to walk and learn about the place.

Then, we ride to a beautiful grove where the old ranch house once stood. There, we will prepare the meal consisting of grilled steaks with vegetables and salad. Once the meal is over, we will start the return to the ranch and then return to El Calafate. The horseback ride lasts approximately 4 hours.

Frequency: daily. Operates from September to April 30th.

Schedule: 6 hours from 09:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m

Included: transfer, horseback riding and lunch.

Not included: drinks.

What to bring?: comfortable and warm clothing.

Cancellation policy: allows cancellation without charges up to 48 hours before the date of the activity.
