Full Day Chaltén Laguna de los Tres

This is a medium to high physical demand activity aimed at those travelers who want to achieve the goal of reaching the famous Laguna De los Tres, the closest point to Mount Fitz Roy. You walk 20 km in 9 hours.

We begin this full-day tour by picking up passengers at their hotels: Once everyone is on board the bus, we will begin the trip to the town of El Chaltén, considered the National Capital of trekking. Halfway along this beautiful scenic route, you will be able to see the southern Andes where the unmistakable silhouette of Mount Fitz Roy stands out against the rest of the granite needles that surround it.

Once in El Chaltén, we will make a short stop to use the restrooms before setting off. Here a second trekking guide will join us who will accompany us during the hike. The trailhead is located at the Río Eléctrico bridge, just 14 km from El Chaltén. There we will be given our food and we will begin the hike. In the first part of the route (6.3 km, which takes 1.30 hours), the path gains altitude until reaching the Piedras Blancas Viewpoint. After reaching this point, the path slowly descends to the meeting point near the Poincenot Base Camp. Those who hesitate to continue with the second section, which is much more demanding than the first, will continue the journey with one of the two guides as GROUP 2 to the beautiful Capri Lagoon, another of the must-see attractions of El Chaltén. There we will have lunch before continuing the descent to El Chaltén. GROUP 1 will continue the journey with one of the guides and will cross the Poincenot Base Camp area, cross the bridge over the Blanco River and, from there, begin to gain altitude rapidly. In total, there is an ascent of about 430 m of altitude for almost 3 km until reaching the highest point: Laguna de los Tres. After the effort, we will reach a morainic ridge from where we can see in all its splendor the Fitz Roy massif and at its feet the lagoon and glacier De los Tres. To reach the lagoon itself, we descend a few meters and, once there, it will be the perfect time for lunch and enjoy a unique moment surrounded by an unforgettable landscape.

If we have some more energy left, we can go to the Laguna Sucia viewpoint, the trail takes a few minutes from Laguna de los Tres. After exploring the area and taking many photos, we begin the descent and we will pass by Laguna Capri.

Once in El Chaltén, where we meet up with group 2, in case the group has separated, we return to El Calafate

What to bring?: sunglasses, sunscreen, comfortable and warm clothing, sun hat, waterproof jacket, gloves, hiking boots and water bottle.

Restrictions: only suitable for people between 10 and 55 years old (not exclusive). Not suitable for pregnant people. Not suitable for sedentary people with obesity.

Cancellation policy: cancellation of the service is allowed without charges up to 48 hours before the date of the activity. Cases of force majeure duly documented (modification or cancellation of flights) or certified medical reasons.

No show: in case of not taking the service on the date, time and place agreed, 100% of the cost of the excursion will be charged as cancellation fees.
