A different way to see Patagonian Steppe
We leave El Calafate in 4×4 vehicles through the valley of Calafate stream. After a 15 km climb, we arrive at “La Sección” a ranch outpost of Estancia 25 de Mayo, where the mountain bikes await us.
After some instructions, we start cycling! An excursion that will allow us to sight a variety of fauna: guanacos, foxes, choikes, condors and eagles.
Crossing the Valley of Guanacos, and with an imposing view of Verlika and Baguales hills, we arrive at a “chenque” (rock cairn, ancient tehuelche burial site) where we will stop to rest, hydrate and contemplate the Patagonian vastness. Finally, we will return to the ranch outpost to have lunch or dinner before descending to El Calafate in 4×4.

- Difficulty level: High
- Minimum age: 12 years
- What to bring?: Sunglasses, sunscreen, trekking shoes, comfortable warm clothes.
- Included: 4×4 drive + bicycle + lunch: Cheese platter, lamb confit and olives, lamb stew served inside a country bread and chocolate mousse as dessert. Drinks included
- Frequency: Daily, from November 15th to April 30th. It is cancelled in case of rain
- Duration: 9 am to 2 pm.
