Don't miss this adventure!

Walk on the Cagliero Glacier and see the best views of the north face of Mount Fitz Roy.

Trekking and Climbing

It is a full-day excursion that combines a walk through the imposing native forest of the Diablo River Valley at Estancia Los Huemules, a step of action and excitement to overcome the rock through a via ferrata, and an unforgettable trekking on the Cagliero Glacier.

We depart from Chalten towards the Los Huemules Reserve, where the walk begins along a path away from the most traveled classics, the imposing silhouette of the north face of Cerro Chaltén will watch your steps until you reach Laguna Diablo, after 2 hours trekking.

Once in the Lagoon, our guides will deliver the necessary equipment for the via Ferrata. Then, you continue bordering the Lagoon, until you reach the via Ferrata. Here we will explain how to use the harness to move along the route autonomously, safely and accompanied at all times by the guides.

At the end of the road, you will reach the viewpoint that allows you to see the Cagliero South Glacier that descends between the Neumayer, Cagliero and Loma del Diablo hills.

In a few minutes you will reach the front of the glacier, where it is time to put on your crampons to start trekking on the glacier.

At the end of the walk on the glacier, we begin the return along the same via ferrata, retracing the path through the Diablo River valley, arriving at the head of the trail at the entrance to the Los Huemules reserve around 6:00 p.m. The vehicle will be waiting to return to El Chaltén.
